Dear Members of Energy Working Group,
The Energy Working Group is pleased to invite you to its next working group meeting, taking place on Friday 12 April, 14:00-16:00 in both Beijing and Shanghai office via videoconference facility.
The cooperation between China and Germany in energy sector dated back in 2006. In early 2013, it was agreed by both governments to strengthen the cooperation in sustainable energy supply as a secure, affordable and environment friendly energy supply is the interest for both countries. The German-China Energy Partnership was established to implement the objectives set by both governments. To help our members explore the possible opportunity to participate in the partnership, we are delighted to invite Ms. Qiongying Ma, the Project Manager of the German-China Energy Partnership, to give us an introduction to the project and discuss the potential cooperation opportunities with the business community.
With this occasion, we will also discuss the 2019 Energy Working Group priorities, discuss its Position Paper outline, and host this year’s Chair elections. The Chair shall play a key role in driving the development of the Group. With support from the Chamber secretariat, he or she shall promote the Group’s activities and communicate targeted messages on behalf of industry to policy makers and key stakeholders in China and Europe. The Chair shall also serve as spokesperson to raise the Group’s visibility in the media and at relevant events when appropriate. The Vice Chairs shall play a supporting role to the Chair of the Group. The Vice Chairs assist the Chair when needed in driving the development of the Group and can also represent the Group in communicating messages to policy makers and stakeholders in China and Europe. In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chairs shall take over the responsibilities of the Chair. Should you be interested in running for the Chair or Vice Chair position, please send your bio and a motivation letter to Ms. Ziting Zhang at ztzhang@europeanchamber.com.cn by COB, 4th April 2019
A further email containing the bios and motivation letters of all chair candidates will be circulated prior to the elections.
