The European Chamber’s Research and Development Working Group aims to provide a platform to exchange information, experience and best practices among member companies and to promote dialogue and transparency in research and development (R&D) policy. It was created to continue the work done by the Research and Development Forum of the European Chamber, as members felt the need to engage directly with Chinese authorities at both the central and local levels. The working group is composed of professionals directly involved in R&D operations in China from nearly 50 European multinational corporations (MNCs) which have R&D centres and large-scale R&D operations in China, mostly located in the Beijing and Shanghai areas. Various sectors of the industry are represented in the working group including companies that enjoy global leading positions in their sectors, such as automotive, chemicals and petrochemicals, information and communications technology, aerospace, energy and pharmaceuticals.
