Meeting with Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization on the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and AI Policies in Shanghai
The European Chamber Shanghai Chapter organised a joint Working Group meeting with Mr SUN Yue, Vice Director of Artificial Intelligence Development Section at Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, to introduce the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and AI-related policies in Shanghai. Mr Zhonghua Xu, Chair of the Research and Development Working Group delivered the opening and closing remarks, presenting European Business in China Position Paper 2018/2019 to Mr Sun.

On 24 April 2019, the European Chamber’s Shanghai Chapter organised a working group meeting with Shanghai Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs to discuss with members on Foreign Invested Enterprises Innovation Centre-related policies. Members from Research and Development Working Group, Human Resources Working Group, Information and Communication Technology Working Group, Pharmaceutical Working Group, Auto Components Working Group and Small and Medium-size Enterprise Forum attended this meeting.

On 22 March 2019, The European Chamber’s Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum Coordinator Lizi Chen participated in a workshop for European Tech SMEs. Dr Philippe Vialatte, Head of Science and Technology Session of EU Delegation, gave an opening remarks and articulated the importance of EU-China cooperation on European SMEs. Ms Celina Huang, Deputy Director of Shanghai Technology Innovation Center, presented the landscape of tech SMEs-related policies in Shanghai.

The European Chamber organised a joint Working Group meeting among Human Resources, Legal and Competition, Research and Development and Small-Medium Sized Enterprise Forum. It discussed the issue of internship visas for foreigners in China and featured a presentation on the China-France 1000 Interns Agreement by Mr. Fabien Chareix, Attaché for University Cooperation at the Consulate General of France in Shanghai as well as Ms Yinghua Zhu, the Deputy Director of Foreign Experts and Returned Scholars at Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.
