Led by Ambassador Jorge Toledo Albiñana, head of the Delegation of the European Union (EUD) to China, a delegation consisting of 17 European Union member states’ ambassadors to China, including representatives from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, visited Chengdu to meet with officials from the city’s government. On 13th June, the European Chamber’s Southwest China Chapter organised an exclusive meeting with the delegation for Chamber members which was also attended by consul generals from France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
Sally Huang, General Manager of European Chamber Southwest China Chapter gave the opening speech and introduced the development of Southwest China Chapter to all the guests.
H.E. Jorge Toledo Albiñana, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to China shared current EU-China relations and trading.
Massimo Bagnasco, Vice President of European Chamber, as well as Chair of European Chamber Southwest China Chapter introduced the key findings related to Southwest China of European Business in China - Business Confidence Survey.
Four member representatives introduced their companies, local developments, operations, as well as challenges and successes in Chengdu. The representatives are: Bayer, ABInBev, Siemens Limited China and KPMG. Three of the Southwest Board members Paul Sives, Raquel Ramirez and Dieter Vanonckelen shared their companies’ situation in Chengdu as well.
After the closed-door meeting, a cocktail reception was held for further communications.
