On 19th January, Mr. Renato Roldão and Mr. Gianni Di Giovanni, States' Representatives of the European Chamber, spoke at the New Year's Symposium for Foreign Embassies in China and International Organizations hosted by the International Green Economy Association (IGEA). Meeting with the Clean Energy Industry Association of Inner Mongolia

On 19th January, Energy Working Group representative met with Zhang Nan, President of the Inner Mongolia Clean Energy Industry Association. The Inner Mongolia Clean Energy Industry Association was officially launched in Hohhot in 2021, marking the first industrial association to focus on clean energy in the autonomous region. At present, there are more than 20,000 clean energy companies in the autonomous region.

Joint WG Meeting on the Latest Decarbonisation Policies and Actions in the EU and China with Mr. Rainer Emschermann from DG CLIMA

On Thursday 18th January, the European Chamber organised a joint WG meeting with Mr. Rainer Emschermann, Policy Officer at Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), European Commission, on the EU’s climate and green transition policy landscape and regulations at the heart of the EU’s decarbonisation agenda. Mr. Renato Roldão, States' Representative, European Chamber, gave the opening remarks and moderated the whole session. Representatives from various WGs such as energy, carbon market, aviation and aerospace, maritime manufacturing and industrial services, and automotive, elaborated on China’s green transition push from the perspective of EU businesses in the panel discussion.

Green Transition in Industry and Transport: Sharing Swedish Experiences

On December 17th, the Swedish Consulate hosted the "Green Transition in Industry and Transport: Sharing Swedish Experiences" event and the opportunities within China on the transition to renewable energy. Two European Chamber Energy Working Group vice chairs participated as moderator and panellist respectively, providing European business perspectives on decarbonising the industrial sector and securing fossil free transport.The event brought together a number of experts in green transport and industry, for a series of presentations followed by a panel discussion.
