EU has been China’s biggest trading partner and China has been EU’s second largest trading partner during the past consecutive years. China is the fastest growing country in the aviation and aeronautical industries, while EU has the most advanced aeronautical technology in the world.

The Airbus Tianjin project is the best example to demonstrate the success of EU – China cooperation in the aeronautic industries: it has created the growth of the employment, safety, sustainability and profitability for both sides. We have the pleasure to have Mr. Albert VARENNE, Head of Regional Sourcing Office China & East Asia of Airbus and the Chair of Aviation and Aerospace Working Group to share with us the Airbus experience in China to understand how business can benefit from EU- China Win-Win  Aeronautical Cooperation.

In 2016, he took the current position as Head of Regional Sourcing Office China & East Asia of Airbus
In 2014, he was awarded as the Procurement Manager of the Year by the French magazine “Décision Achats” for his engagement to SME's development.
In 2013, he was nominated as the head of Airbus & Airbus Group procurement strategy & governance.
In 2006, he became the head of international cooperation inside aerostructure procurement to define and manage cross Airbus CoEs the procurement policy aiming at achieving the international cooperation targets successfully.
In 2004, he took charge of the composite and aerostructure procurement for Airbus.
In 2000, he was nominated as the first director of procurement of SOCATA when EADS was set up
In 1983, he started his career as a manufacturing engineering engineer at SNIAS (lately known as Aerospatiale). Following the launch of the A320 programme, he became the head of the assembly line production. He joined SOCATA to develop the belly fairing of Airbus A330/340 before he started a commercial career in the aerostructure.

Mr. SCHREIBER Manages the day-to-day operations of the Joint Venture Company, comprised of China Tianjin Aviation Industry Investment Company Ltd. and AIRBUS China Ltd., involved in aircraft assembly of A319 / A320 Final Assembly, Cabin and Paint, as well as A330 Cabin and Paint activities.
