Dear HR Professionals:
Murmurs of economic recovery in the US have already started doing the rounds in recent months. The voices in Asia though are of a higher-decibel chorus. Asia’s emerging economies probably grew at an average annualized rate of over 10 percent in the second quarter, while America’s GDP fell by 1 percent. In 2009 as a whole, recent forecasts suggest that emerging Asia could grow by at least 5 percent, while the G7 economies may contract by 3.5 percent.
Asia’s emerging economies are recovering much more quickly than economies in other parts of the world. Of special mention is China’s rebound which has taken many forecasters by surprise. We still remember the unprecedented challenges that economic slowdown has created for the management teams and HR professionals alike. Now, as we prepare for the road to recovery, the question on our minds is:
"Will HR be a passenger or the driver?"
The rules of recovery: Mercer 2009 China Annual HR Conference, held in 14 cities around China from October to November, will address how HR can help your company navigate the road to recovery, but not just be a backseat passenger. Join us to gain key insights into effective HR strategies that will support your business strategy and help you retain a leading position.
