The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to a breakfast seminar covering the topic of real estate in China.
In the face of the global economic downturn, the Chinese authorities launched a number of initiatives aimed at stimulating the Chinese economy from within. The success of these is evident in the continuing economic growth here, but there are fears that too much of this additional investment found its way to the real estate sector. Some claim that as a result of this a dangerous “bubble” formed within the sector which could be a significant risk to the stability of the economy as a whole.
During the seminar we will examine figures and recent trends in the Chinese property market. What are the factors really driving the growth? What are the dangers? And how will this affect your investment and business operations in China? Join us for this seminar, where our invited specialists will find the answers for you.
The Speakers
James Macdonald, Head of Savills China Research, Savills
Mr. Macdonald will speak about the current property market situation in China and explain the factors which might drive the claimed bubble in the sector.
Michelle Gon, Principal, Baker & McKenzie LLP
Ms. Gon will be looking at the current legal issues revolving around the real estate market and discuss how they may be impacting trends, as well as analysing what opportunities and threats exist that might affect any potential bubble.
