The good news is that European companies operating in China have once again witnessed strong overall growth during 2010.
China is increasingly regarded as a key strategic market for European companies. 78% of European companies surveyed reported a significant increase in revenue over 2010 and an encouraging 71% reporting increased profitability.
However, despite this, there remain growing concerns – in particular in relation to an increasingly challenging regulatory environment. As the Chinese economy continues to grow, both in terms of size and sophistication, the need for transparency, effective regulation and the development of the rule of law are seen by European companies as essential priorities over the coming years.
To learn more about recent developments on the economic and business environment for European Companies in China (in particular the Pearl River Delta Region) and important policy changes during 2010, you are cordially invited to join the launch of the European Business in China Position Paper 2011/2012. Presentations will be made in three key Pearl River Delta cities, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai.
We are honored to welcome the President of the European Chamber in China, Mr. Davide Cucino, to present the Position Paper Executive Summary in Guangzhou and Shenzhen on Sept 13th and to welcome Pearl River Delta Chairman, Mr. Holger Kunz, to present the local Pearl River Delta Position Paper in all three locations (Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai). The presentations will also focus upon recommendations for the improvement of the PRD business environment.
