Invited experts on Chinese patent law will give a practical overview of what companies need to know about obtaining patent protection in China. This is intended to be a non-specialist introduction which will be of most benefit to technology companies, their engineers and R&D managers. Chris Bailey - IPR Working Group Chair, European Chamber, PRD Chapter; Partner, Deputy Country Manager, Rouse China
Chris is a Partner with Rouse, a specialist Intellectual Property Rights law and consulting firm and currently the deputy Country Manager for China, based in Guangzhou. Chris has been advising companies on commercial and legal strategies for protecting and exploiting their IP in China for 17 years, but has also worked in, or handled projects in, a number of countries in South East Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. Chris has a BA in Chinese from Oxford University, an MBA from Kellogg-Hong Kong University of Science and Technology joint program, and an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Edinburgh. He is listed in the "IAM 250" directory of 250 top IP strategists compiled by Intellectual Asset Magazine.
Li Mi, Associate, Beijing Lusheng IP Lawyers
Since graduating from Peking University in 2000, Li Mi worked with several international patent agencies and worked for a major patent law firm and bio technology company in China before joining Lusheng in 2006. Li Mi has been a licensed Patent Attorney in China since 2002. Li Mi’s expertise lies in chemical and mechanical industries, particularly in chemistry IP practice in China. Her experience includes patent drafting, patent prosecution, and patent disputes for all ranges of patent and IP rights holders.
