Innovation management beyond talking about it: How to achieve tangible results, securing company existence short- and long-term and improving profitability, overcoming barriers of typically risk-averse organisations
- A practical entrepreneurial approach
Why of relevance to your business:
- Not being aware of changes that do and might have an impact on the company increases the risk to secure the existence of a company
- Complacency, arrogance and not asking the right questions have led to the failure also and perhaps even especially of very big organisations
- Discovering the exciting side of constructive, improving and profitable change do give an organisation new energy and spirit, not only leading to higher sales, but also to lower fluctuation and lower sickness rates
- An ongoing reasonable portion of sales from innovative products increases the sales profit ratio, as keeping aging products alive could be very expensive, whilst this money could be better spent on developing new ones
- Analysts and banks do appreciate innovation efforts
And this is what you will get from participating in this workshop:
- understand the major barriers against innovation
- understand the differences between change, R & D, creativity and innovation
- how to organise and structure an innovation management process
- how to make your organisation innovation-friendly and -open
- how to develop individual responsibility and sensitivity for innovation
- how to discover the pleasure of creativity
- how to apply convingly for an innovation budget
- how to organise communication (incl. databanks) within an international network
Speaker
Hans-J. Pleuger, Shanghai, China
Born and grown up in Germany Hans holds a diploma in business administration and industrial sociology.
He has spent the best part of his management career in corporations with international business relationships, in manufacturing and marketing/sales. Starting from an apprenticeship, studies, to RWT AG (KPMG Certified Public Accountants) until taking responsibilities as Managing Director of a US company in Europe, as Member of the Management Board (Vorstand) of a German Holding AG (ALC construction materials and turnkey plants) and CEO of a Holding AG (renewable energy) in Switzerland.
The sizes of these companies ranged from USD 15 Mio. in revenues p.a. when he began, till USD 1 bio. with 2.300 employees and subsidiaries and licensees in 25 countries. Turnaround management jobs for a German AG in the paper- and in the automotive-industry came on top.
The development of renewable energy projects (waste to energy- and solar-thermal – power plants) as an entrepreneur including the formation of new legal entities brought him deeper into South-East Asia, where he has been working since then intensively in Indonesia, China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia and Korea.
His experiences in top-management responsibilities as well as in training / coaching of people plus the very specific combination of understanding corporate financing, balance-sheets/P&L and marketing lead him to also taking over international M&A tasks.
He has a strong sensitivity for the symbiosis of people and numbers, to identify and connect matching partners and firms in growing innovative markets and his skills in intercultural negotiations were as crucial as the knowledge gained from the line management as from the consulting-side.
In all his management functions he always initiated innovation of products, structures and services, managed processes internationally and introduced new products in existing and into new markets succesfully, by combining strategic, financial, shareholders and customers requirements, also as pre-precursor, short- and long-term orientated.
Certificates in international management from Stanford-Insead (Fontainebleau), Centre d´Études Industrielles, (Geneva), HBDI (Ned Herrmann Institute Berlin, coaching license) and working with TMI (Training- and Management Institute, Germany / USA), Prof. Rupert Lay and Erik von Barnekow have complemented his education.
Hans speaks German, English (fluent) and French.
