The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to the launch of the European Business in China – South China Position Paper 2015/2016 (South China Position Paper). This is the first time that the South China Position Paper is brought out as a standalone publication. It compiles the latest assessments and concerns of European businesses operating in South China with the aim to offer constructive recommendations to the cities’ policy makers.
South China’s stipulated goal is to become the center of international exchange and technology – its four ‘core functions’. Yet South China is even more than this: a global area like no other, and one of China’s most important commercial centers. However, several issues are holding South China back from fulfilling its potential. The South China Position Paper aims to address them.
Critical as some of the South China Position Paper’s recommendations may seem, all of them are given in an honest effort to improve operating conditions in South China for domestic and foreign companies alike, as well as the general living environment for everyone in the cities.
Insights include:
* An overview of the perceptions of European businesses operating in South China;
* An in-depth analysis of South China’s economic, commercial and technological development and potential;
* Recommendations on how South China can further facilitate for foreign investment in the cities;
* Analysis of South China’s continued urbanization drive.
