TL 9000 is a quality management system applicable to all suppliers in the supply chain of telecommunications products. TL 9000 specifies that organizations providing various types of products should collect relevant data as required by the measurement handbook and regularly submit data to designated agencies via the internet to measure and evaluate the results of the organization's quality management system implementation. This facilitates customers in identifying high-quality suppliers. Throughout the past few years, the EU has been revamping its regulatory toolbox in order to better address emerging economic, geopolitical, technological and climate challenges. This expanding toolbox includes instruments aiming at combatting economic distortions and creating a level-playing field in the Single Market, ensuring reciprocity with third countries in areas like procurement and combatting coercive actions initiated by those countries, fostering sustainable processes and preventing carbon leakage among industry players. As number of these regulations will impact the China operations of European companies, the European Chamber brings to you the Interpreting the EU’s Toolbox Series, where experts will provide an overview of the instruments that are being rolled out. The fourth episode of the series will focus on the Anti-Coercion Instrument (ACI), and it will take place on 5th March 16:00 online.

CQI-9 Special Process: Heat Treatment System Assessment (HTSA) Version 4 was released by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Heat Treatment Work Group in June 2020. The three major automotive companies in the United States, namely DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors, all require heat treatment system assessments in their customer-specific requirements. All heat treatment suppliers must be evaluated according to CQI-9. HTSA is also a requirement for internal audits and second-party assessments of heat treatment processes within many international Tier 1 component supplier groups.

Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a classic tool of Lean Manufacturing: A simple, quick and visual tool to understand the current material flow and information flow in your company. Through the analysis of the current value stream map, wasteful areas and improvement points can be quickly identified. The implementation of digitalization projects can make effective use of value stream mapping to enable rapid identification of opportunities and effective communication across departments. Information Value Stream Mapping, as the most effective tool, extends the approach towards and pays special attention to the data and information layer. This workshop introduces the basic theory of Value Stream Mapping and gives a systematic approach on how to account for the information layer in business processes. Participants will gain a deeper understanding through team practice and introduction to successful digitalization projects.
