Phoenix Contact China, established in Nanjing in 1993, has been growing steadily for 29 years. In 2017, Phoenix Contact China further enhanced the level of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization, and begin the planning of the new generation of intelligent factories. It takes lean, intelligent and green as the concept and builds gradually on the basis of digital industrial planning methods, forming intelligent factories integrating intelligent production, intelligent logistics, intelligent building and energy efficiency management as well as industrial Internet of Things and other core systems. Finally, it realizes all-round integration under the concept of industry 4.0 intelligent factories. The new smart factory relocated and started the trial operation in November 2020. For many foreign multinationals, investing in listed companies is the fastest and more direct route to inorganic growth in China. Listed companies have higher levels of governance and transparency, buyer/seller valuation gaps are lower and negotiation processes can be shorter than with private peers. On the other hand, this apparently ideal route to market only represent a small amount of total foreign M&A in China, mostly due to an unfamiliarity with the complexities of the legal and regulatory environment.
