ICT Working Group Call on VPN Ban in China

Following the MIIT Notice on Cleaning Up and Regulating the Internet Access Service Market released in January 2017, China has been cracking down unauthorised VPNs, and has intensified relevant efforts following the entry into force of the Cybersecurity Law. As a result of frequent media reports, we have been receiving an increasing amount of queries from members regarding the consequences of the current VPN ban.

He is among the drafters of various Chinese personal information security standards. At this meeting, an introduction will be given to the latest version of the Personal Information Security Specification and other relevant standards in the making, followed by a roundtable discussion.
