The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the upcoming workshop on the recently released Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2018-2020 and Guangdong government subsidy policy on 29th March. At this workshop, an introduction will be given to the Work Programmes for 2018-2020 by Dr. Laurent Bochereau, Head of Science, Technology and Environment Section, EU Delegation to China, followed by an presentation on Guangdong government subsidy policy and the application method.
Horizon 2020 is the largest multinational programme dedicated to research & innovation which focused on excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges. The Work Programme 2018-2020 represents a major investment of €30 billion and offers great opportunities to industries to partner with a wider scientific community and innovators in areas of mutual interests.
According to the European Commission, bigger budgets have been allocated in the 2018-2020 Work Programme to support different political priorities:
- A low-carbon, climate resilient future: €3.3 billion
- Circular Economy: €1 billion
- Digitising and transforming European industry and services: €1.7 billion
- Security Union: €1 billion
- Migration: €200 million
€2.2 billion will be earmarked for clean energy projects in four interrelated areas: renewables, energy efficient buildings, electro-mobility and storage solutions, including €200 million to support the development and production in Europe of the next generation of electric batteries.
Guangdong as one of the most open and innovative areas in the country provides various subsidies for companies in different industries. This workshop will give a picture of subsidy policy in Guangdong and introduce the application method with case studies.
