With the release of the Provisions on the Promoting and Regulating of Cross-border Data Flows, the identification of sensitive personal information is even more relevant to the application of compliance paths for the export of personal information. On 11 June 2024, the National Technical Committee 260 on Cybersecurity of Standardisation Administration of China (the “TC260”) issued the technical document "Cybersecurity Standard Practice Guidelines -Guidelines for Identification of Sensitive Personal Information (Draft for Public Comments), which aims to provide clearer and more specific guidance on the protection of sensitive personal information.
