On 29 December 2023, the National People’s Congress announced the newly revised Company Law which will take effect from 1 July 2024. The revised Company Law further clarifies and elaborates on the responsibilities of company directors, supervisors, and senior executives, of which the Article 188 has become an important legal basis for holding them accountable for improper performance of their duties.
